28 on the 28th [update]
As Mandy already commented on another post I figure I should acknowledge that today is indeed my 28th Birthday. Apparently this is my golden birthday since I'm turning the same age as the day of the event. There's not a ton on the docket today but am saving most of the fun for the weekend. I'm currently at work where folks have wished me a happy day and I even got an eCard from one co-worker. My parents were nice enough to send up a couple great shirts as gifts. Sarah and I are saving most of the fun for this Saturday when ourselves and three other couples are heading to Chopstix to celebrate Mandy's and two of our other September Birthdays. It'll be great to have friends staying with us this weekend and to hang out Saturday night. Just being around people I care about is the best gift I could get!
Too bad we have to clean our messy house before they come! Guess I know what I'm doing for my Birthday tonight. ;)
Oh, that and Smallville has it's premiere tonight. Yes, I know, guilty pleasure.
Update (2006-09-29 @ 6:50am)
After I got home from work I found Sarah had already taken care of tidying up the house a bit before the weekend. As we figured out what to do I slowly discovered Sarah already had some plans in motion. First, I though we'd just be joining Angela and Steve (of the Ferguson's) at their place for some take-out and Smallville. Then, an eager Sarah took a turn we don't normally when heading to their house. The jig was nearly up but I actually didn't guess at all where precisely we were headed. Even after she parked the car a block off Sixth Ave. I was slightly clueless. We finally joined up with Angela and Steve and soon thereafter Gavin and Holly at Gary's Steak Out. We enjoyed some fine food, drink, and fun together even, at one point, getting on the topic of college pranks. Of Gary's and those pranks, I'll have to elaborate later.
Thanks to them joining us last night, Sarah for being sneaky and whipping up a great custom Birthday card, to my parents for their gifts, Sarah's mom for some cash money surely to be used toward a snowboard. I also happily received some more snowboard fund cash, an IOU of one lift ticket to be used with Gavin and Holly present, a solid tripod and head for my camera, and the reminder that my wife can indeed be a sneaky one. Thanks for a great and unexpected Birthday, sweetie. That's the last time you'll trick me into believing you want to drive anywhere! ;)
Update 2 (2006-09-29 @ 7:05am)
Oh, and pics may be forthcoming if I can get them out of Gavin, Steve and Angela. I took zero and, I suppose, rightly so since it'd be awfully hard for me to take pictures of my enjoying my own birthday. Sorry to disappoint, Erik! ;)
Wow, that's two paragraphs in a row ending with an emoticon. Here's my latest favorite (that I may or may not have invented) -- blinking sock monkey! ;()
