Downtown loses window into crime
Though intrepid in her efforts and faithful to the safety of her part of downtown, Laura Hanan is nolonger posting images of local crime online. In an email, she wrote:
...I don't think it is a good idea to put the pictures up anymore because the threats are becoming so vicious. Hopefully the truth will come out, but I doubt I will still be living in Tacoma when it does.
She recently took her email campaign of images of local crime captured with her video camera to Flickr -- though her account now stands empty. The more public display, though obviously controversial, was a cry for the help she wants to see the area between 8th and 9th on Pacific get. For someone who's been an absolute hawk to have to fear for herself is a complete shame. Not on her but on the scum that riddle her downtown neighborhood night after late night.
Thanks for your diligent eye, Laura, and let's hope it doesn't have to get worse down there before some changes are made.
