Mostly Andrea

Most people know Andrea Trenbeath from her winning work at Tacoma's Friday Frost Park Chalk Off's or from her paintings that show up in galleries and shows around town. Last night I had the chance to see her working on a couple new pieces in her studio. It was an exciting way for me to explore some new off-camera lighting equipment I added to my photo arsenal and I thanked her repeatedly for letting me sit in.

Art in action is what it's all about to me. It humanizes the often amazing work artists create and hopefully inspires anyone artistically inclined but with reservations of any kind. People do art. You're people. You can do art too! While I watched and shot Andrea narrated her technique, her inspiration, which brush came next, why acrylic over oil, and on from there.

It's a true pleasure to experience someone like her or other talented local artists while they work and I can't encourage it enough. If you're so inclined join us at Frost Park on 9th & Pacific in downtown Tacoma every Friday April through October to watch or chalk the heck out of the place. Andrea's often there and, along with others, it's the best art in action show in town!
