No go[ats]
After half a day of staying at home working yesterday Sarah and I met up with Angela, Steve, and their neice Amaya to see some goats! Unfortunately for us, they were a no-show. The goats, I mean. I got myself all excited last week when I wrote that there would be a herd of goats brought into a local urban park to do some much needed weeding.
Upon showing up yesterday afternoon there were no goats in sight. Steve checked with a yellow coat wearing park volunteer that said things were running late and that the goats wouldn't arrive 'til last night. Did that happen? I'm not sure but I do know that Metro Parks needs to keep folks updated via their website if they announce an event for a particular time and it falls behind schedule. It's not a difficult thing to do and it would've saved us a trip all the way from our place and back.
Nevertheless, Blueberry Park is a neat urban park with rows and rows of blueberries for public pickin once ripe. There were plenty of green berries on the bushes when we were there but they already looked like they would become plump, tasty blueberries eventually.
Anyone see the goats yet? I hope to get out and snap some photos when/if they actually arrive. Stay tuned...
