Photos ~ Frigid Mt. Rainier Sunrise

Despite the bitter cold the sky is clear and brilliant with gusty winds blowing any guck from the area. I could clearly see the North Cascades and a curtain of white draped Olympic Mountains from the top of the 30th Street hill. If you can get up to that area or anywhere for a look I highly recommend it.

Also, as the winter solstice approaches, the morning Sun stretches close to its southern most extent. From here that brings it to rising nearly from behind Mt. Rainier. I could resist braving the cold for just a few minutes down near the Thea Foss Waterway to grab these shots. Enjoy and stay warm!
