With camera slung over shoulder, I met up with Joe, Anna, and Dawn this morning for a bike ride around Tacoma on this first truly summery day of the year. We started down at Wright Park before weaving around Hilltop a bit. We then met up with the Scott Pierson and cruised on it to the Narrows Bridges. The Olympic Mountains were in clear view as we shot down the hill and about half way across the new bridge before turning around and heading along Vassault towards Point Defiance. We stopped for a sweet shake at Don's Ruston Market (where I also packed in half a sammich and some chili cheese Fritos) where Dawn and I parted ways with Joe and Anna so we could head through Point Defiance Park on 5 Mile Drive and back to my house.
All told I rode 21 miles which is a new record for this guy. It felt great and, boy Tacoma, you sure are a stunning one on a day like this!
