Food, freedom, small ships, and explosions of various kinds

What a great time to have great weather. This weekend through the 4th there's a slew of big events happening around town.

6/30—7/2 - Small Ships Tacoma
They may not be tall, but the small ships will be along the Thea-Foss waterway. These are antique, mostly wooden ships that have plenty of history and tons of class. There's music at this one as well in the little amphitheatre near the Museum of Glass.

6/30—7/2 - Taste of Tacoma
Food, food, glorious food. The weather is fine so head out to Point Defiance to sample the eats, listen to live music, and waddle around with other stuffed Tacomans.

7/2 @ 8am - Kaiser Smokestack demolition
Arrive early at the Blair terminal at the Port of Tacoma to grab a spot to view the demo. What a way to kick of the 4th of July holiday!

7/4 - Tacoma Freedom Fair
Join pretty much the entire city along Ruston Way waterfront for yet more food, music, and other forms of entertainment both along the sidewalk, in the water, and overhead. The airplane acrobatics rule as do the fireworks that come out in the evening.
