Warrior's End - Playing the part of an extra
A co-worker and I got up early this morning and drove out past Snoqualmie Pass to join the cast and crew of Warrior's End for some filming. We were extras but we had a great time. Everyone gathered at a private lodge in the woods lovingly called Trollhagen. There, we were given our good and bad guy costumes. Once dressed in good guy garb a few drivers shuttled everyone in big white vans out to the site to film. We all hauled equipment and props out to the mostly empty reservoir and soon the action begun. Throughout the day we filmed scenes of attacking armies, lines of archers firing volleys toward the enemy, multi-pronged attacks, army pep talks, and even a village burning. With the fifty or so extras on-hand the crew seemed to be really happy with the shots they got and we definitely had fun playing with all the swords and axes we weilded for the day. We were used pretty wisely by the director as we changed from good to bad guys after lunch to film different scenes. Although really tired, Andy and I had a great time helping out for the good of the film and hope it comes out really well.
