Two summer details...
With summer comes higher average temperatures. Aside from the record scorching occurring in the southern US, the Northwest can get toasty too. On my daily jaunt to get the mail (it takes about fifteen minutes, we live in the boonies) I noticed that the temperature had began to change the tar in the road from solid to semi-liquid. I walked on and heard a muffled popping sound. The tar in the road was actually bubbling up and I was bursting those bubbles as I walked.
Summer's clear skies can produce a palette that is of the most vivid of the year. Last night, the color of the twilight sky was so thick a shade of blue, I thought I could rake my fingers through it and watch it ripple like water.
