Roping viruses
All in all, a fine day. Got up around 11am and didn't have a problem with it. I'm not normally quite that relaxed with my waking time but, hey, it's break! My only plans for today included a trip in to the eye doctor. It's been two years since my last visit and I think my vision has become only slightly worse since that time. None the less, two years means the insurance will cover the visit so I'm there! The ol' peepers did get a bit blurrier but otherwise have no problems. Good cornea, good retina, and lookin' good! Hey, what's an afternoon without a few dialating drops?

Last night (techincally today) I got rid of a nasty little virus I picked up via email. Yes luck with my computer is riding high. Get this bug the day after I get my computer running from an unfortunate crash. The story [quickly] goes like this:
- Get strange email with program attached
- Run program, it does nothing and I can't put it in the Recycle Bin because Windows says it's still using it
- Restart computer, throw away program
- Later in the day, receive email with same message but from a different address, with a different subject, and with a differently named attached file
- Become suspicious
- Do some research after a virus scan turns up positive and find that I've got a popular new virus
- Warn other people about it and promply clean it from my system
Although nothing came of this little virtual cold I was kinda' fascinated by the fact that I got one of the mysterious emails that have been so reported upon by the news media. I'm pleased at the level of suspicion I had throughout because, although this virus only wanted to send itself to other people, it could've been much worse.
Did you see the Moon? Man, I don't know which figures on its brightness to believe but that is one glaring piece of celestial cheese! I leave you with my somewhat pathetic attempt at capturing this specticle. Keep in mind that it was taken with my digital camera through the eyepiece of my moms bird-spotting scope. Am I making excuses? Uh, no.
