Off to battle
It's just about that time of year yet again. The time when Kevin and either the jazz choir or band here at PLU head to the bustling social mecca of Moscow (pronounced MOSS-co), ID. This year I'll be performing with the University Vocal Jazz group at this year's Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. Both our group and the PLU Jazz Ensemble will be sharing a charter bus that will whisk us eastward somewhere around noon tomorrow. The long ride to and fro will be great considering the company that'll be present on our bus. I'm looking forward to the choir's early performance time. Thursday morning at 9:20am we'll hit the stage and within a matter of minutes the pressure on our minds will be relieved and we can go about enjoying the rest of the festival — or doing homework.
I take with me my faithful sidekick Li'l Shefa so I can type entries live from the festival that will later be posted here on the ol' site. No pictures this time around though. My digital camera is in a state of disrepair and despite my efforts at finding out how much it'll cost to be looked at I've had no luck contacting anyone. Cross your fingers for me on that one. Having unlimited picture taking capabilities for a year amounted to a little more than 5,000 pictures taken. When it doesn't work I must say that it's directly comparable to having a limb lobbed off. I want it back. "Why don't you just have it repaired under the warrunty," you might be saying to yourself. Well, you're right except that the unit was bought more than a year ago and the ability to repair it at no cost to me is past.
Everyone stay healthy where ever you may be reading this from and I promise to bring back many entries worth of news from the jazz festival front. Until then...
