Kickin' concert
It's not often that I am blessed with the company of my housemates on normal work mornings. I'm most definitely the earlybird in the place. Today was different because Aaron was up and around well before I took off for work. We both left the house about the same time and were excited to see the first frosty morning of this Fall/Winter. Frozen puddles, iced-over windshields, and frost-bitten fall foliage were everywhere. The two of us briefly stomped through the whitened grass of our lawn like two kids on their way to the bus stop. I then reasoned that I could probably be just a little late to work so I went inside and grabbed my digital camera. The following are a few of the images I captured on my walk to work:

After a moderately hectic day at work it was time to get nervous and get dressed for tonight's PLU Vocal Jazz Ensemble concert. To this day I get so anxious before a concert that I urge time to pass as quickly as possible so I can just start the concert. Right when we walk out on stage I'm fine. Tonight we put on a hell of a show (if I do say so myself)! With no noticeable problems we cruised through our set and left our sizable audience with something to remember. I can easily say it's probably the strongest vocal jazz concert since I've been here. The group has come together really well this year and I'm truly excited to carry on towards the 2001 Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival and to the end of the year. The best is most certainly yet to come.
Oh, one thing about this concert. About a month ago we had our first concert and, since we only rehearse twice a week, we thought this one was scheduled far too soon. After adding a couple extra rehearsals we felt adequately prepared for tonight. I just needed a little help on Mercy, Mercy, Mercy. Good thing the audience (except for my housemate Aaron who knew I prepared the palmtop crib sheet) didn't notice me glance at my hand a couple times during this song!
