Flying months
And so I turned to my calendar and said, "May? Already?!"
All around me the telltale signs that the school year is coming to a close are shining directly in my face. The Sun's warmth is more intense (when available), leaves magically seem to have appeared on trees and birds happily chirp and warble within them, and my senior friends are swiftly finishing up their capstone projects. Seniors? Capstones?
I know I'm not a senior by normal standings because, as an undergraduate, I hold a full-time staff position with PLU. Seeing most of my friends take part in preparations for graduation does make me feel like I'm getting up there though. It's funny how easily visible it becomes that our time together runs short and that college is nearly a memory behind us. I'm not afraid of what the future might bring but, I must say, it seems to be coming far sooner than I could've ever imagined.
So to the future and the passing months and years, I have only to say, "Bring it!" Last Saturday the first civilian paid his way into space while two days later NASA picked up a signal from a 29-year-old spacecraft from over 8 billion miles distant. Each day I head to work to dance over the balance of art and functionality creating webpages while wearing powerful electronic devices on my belt. Technology is only a part of the interesting and history-making pieces of life today that, in an uncertain and ever-approaching future, will be bookmarks upon which I'll someday be able to recall, "Remember when..."
