GEOS capstone

My afternoon consisted of research into the topic for my senior Geosciences capstone project. Beginning this semester, the project will consist of a written paper, a presentation, and a class which meets once a week. The topic I've chosen is the geological and laymen guide to local area springs. Fascinated by a visit to Flaming Geyser State Park and the headwaters of the Metolius River late last year, I want to explore Puget Sound-area springs and develop a website with information (geological and otherwise) and directions for day trips to these fascinating water resources.

So the hunt for information began online today and will continue both there and in the map room in PLU's science building. I'm hoping to discover interesting springs available on public land to which anyone can easily drive. More importantly I'll learn how accessable and important these resources are to our local environment and civilization.

Tonight Sarah cut my hair. I love when she does that for me! Funny though, she never lets me anywhere near her with the clippers... No matter what, it's a pleasure to trust what remaining hair in the perfect hands of Sarah.
