Spring trek (day 1)
Today marks the first day of actual field work for my senior project. Although only venturing out casually to attempt a visit to a couple springs, it gave me an idea about how readily available they would be. That idea wasn't a positive one. Since I was in her neighborhood, I gave Holly a call and she tagged along for the ride (probably because I promised a visit to Gavin's work after our spring search). We stopped at the dam on Chambers Cr. and headed off on a poorly marked trail into the park. The path grew muddier with nearly every step we took and, although I would've continued, I felt that I didn't properly prepare Holly for this particular adventure. We turned around to head back for the car and took a nice drive to Steilacoom. Nestled on the edge of the Puget Sound just west of Tacoma, Steilacoom truly felt like a costal town. Our stop here was purely leisurly as there were no springs to speak of on my map of the area. That pretty much concluded our trek. Now it was on to CompUSA and a visit with Gavin.
