Sax on a Friday

Worked started out pretty slow today with a few folks from PLU's student arts and literature magazine Saxifrage finalizing preparations for tonight's reading. My landmark for the morning was the printing and delivery of my senior paper to the box of my advisor in the Geosciences Dr. Duncan Foley. I'm really pleased with the semester and the project I turned out. I met all the deadlines put in place for us and never truly felt stressed about any of it. Finishing up the paper took little effort because the sections of it were already written separately so it just needed some editing, adding of facts, and putting it all together. But now that's all over and it's in the hands of the PLU Geosciences faculty to make their final judgement. If you'd like to learn more about my project, visit www.springsonline.net.

M. Scott Cameron reading a portion of his Shadows in the RainWith the paper off my shoulders I spent the afternoon helping folks in the lab and reading my way through some documentation on XHTML and CSS. I headed home at my regular five o'clock, ate a chili dinner with Sarah, then headed back to campus with her for tonight's Saxifrage reading. There was a small crowd in the Cave tonight who heard words from a few poets and prose writers of the publication. After an hour everyone mingled and signed autographs -- including me. I have four photos featured in Volume 28 of Saxifrage including the cover. I truly enjoy submitting my artwork(?) to groups for judging because, no matter what I think, they always say such interesting things. I never quite know what to expect when it comes to their preference or which ones they truly think are worthy of being called (or published as) art. My thanks to this years Saxifrage for accepting my photos. No matter what I'm just happy that others get to enjoy the photos I've taken.

Tomorrow night... Star Wars: Episode II (finally)!
