Friday night in the ER

So after a requested early departure from work, the request-ee (Sarah) stood ready for her pickup outside Davita's office building in downtown Tacoma. The minute she got into the car tears streamed from her face and she told me of the immense pain she'd been in for most of the day. I immediately resolved not to pass "Go" and take her directly to the Tacoma General Hospital ER. Hopefully visit #2 would prove more helpful.

Thankfully, it did. The wait wasn't nearly as lengthy as it was last Sunday and we were seen by a doctor who resembled so many television emergency room doctors; young and spoke in a certain "real world" tongue. Sarah slipped into her hospital gown and was attended to by the doctor and three nurses who hooked her up to an I.V. for fluids and one chocked full of antibiotics. Although the medicine they gave her pretty much knocked her out for the remainder of the evening, I managed to keep her somewhat occupied there in the ER by drawing this:
