New [two] wheels
We arose from bed at a good time for the weekend -- not too early but not too late. After about noon we were ready to begin our day. We did so by driving to Rainier Cycle Sport near the intersection (and Queen Ann Thriftway, Sarah's favorite store) of 26th and Proctor . Sarah has wanted to join the ranks of those of us with bikes and decided she'd play the field a bit today. We scanned the store and found some nice rides which didn't break the bank. The saleswoman helped Sarah try a couple bikes in the parking lot at the store's rear and she decided on a not-too-expensive or fancy Trek 820. Although not the lightest thing on two wheels, it has everything Sarah needs as a beginning cyclist as well as a couple extra peripherals she purchased as well. Note: we first visited Rainier Cycle Sport, returned home for lunch when Sarah resolved to getting her bike, returned to the store to purchase it, packed it in my car and headed home, then Sarah took it back to the shop to confirm something about the breaks. This process took most of the afternoon and by the time she returned from her last trip to the shop, we were ready to head out on her premiere ride. We wandered the neighborhoods around here for a while then headed across Division and into Wright Park. After criss-crossing the park we returned home. Sarah is thrilled with her new purchase and the opportunities she'll have with it. On the more selfish side of things, I'm just glad I get such a HOT looking riding partner!
