Don't mind the rain
There's a common myth that seems to have circulated the globe which states that the Pacific Northwest of the continental U.S. is a rain-soaked sponge of a land mass. Little do they know our secret which makes false that claim. With that in mind, I'm happy to announce that it is currently raining outside, a sight which I personally haven't really seen (or noticed) all summer. Being the second day in this meteorological transition month of September, I'm not surprised to see a little wind kick off freshly fallen precip from local trees. Today also happens to be Labor Day 2002 and the city seems to sit quiet as if the weather told everyone to stay indoors with their family before going back to the remaining four day work week. Whatever the case, I'm happy to see the rain. At the end of each season I yearn for the changes which the next surely brings. That time is now, and here I yearn.
So anyway, Sarah and I left the kids (Colby and Lu) at home today to sneak out and catch a movie. We ponied up $6 matinee price and sat in the theatre to be entertained by Mike Myers and crew in Austin Powers: Goldmember. I'm not entirely sure if this is the final chapter in the series but it was a decent flick with some genuinely worthy gags. Although I'm not exactly a Puritan at heart, the humor was a trace cleaner than it was in the 2nd Austin Powers movie. It was funny. Not "watch it by yourself and laugh aloud" funny, but it was funny.
Back to work tomorrow for my forth short week in a row. After that, school...
