Birthday picnic

Sarah and I drove down to the Vancouver/Portland/La Center area to spend time with family and friends this 4th of July weekend. Today we enjoyed an afternoon walk with my parents in the rather comfortable, sunny weather served up by Ma Nature today. A wild plum tree at the end of my parents' driveway provided a sweet snack for both directions of our walk.

Tonight we met Mandy and her new mastiff Orion in the park near the Columbia River to enjoy a sandwich picnic on a blanket in the shade to celebrate my dad's birthday. Once our tummies were full of tasty treats we sat along the rivers shore, played with Orion, and skipped a few rocks. I believe (you can ask witnesses) I skipped one rock 8-10 skips! We then ate a cherry cobbler dessert homemade by my mom.
