Toni's in town
My sister Toni arrived this afternoon in Seattle. After a bit of confusion at the SeaTac airport we found our traveller and promptly wisked her away to Tacoma. Unfortunately for her, Toni arrived on the hottest day we've had in nearly six years as the mercury (or little red-dyed liquid) reached into the high 90s for those in the Puget Sound region. We all caught up on the events in Scotland and Sarah truly enjoys visiting with Toni not because she cares for her and has a strong bond that forms among liberated women but because she's really just looking for excuses to move abroad. Doh!
Anyway, Toni's flight was broken up between Edinburgh and here in Newark where she got a big, fat "Welcome to the U.S." in the form of a zero hour layover (her next plain began bording the minute she stepped off the first), re-checking her baggage, slacker security screeners, a sweaty sprint through the concourse (to gate 96!), and, after all this hurry, a delayed flight. She was in good spirits once here and we all went out to grab some Tatanka for dinner. The rest of the night we chatted it up and received gifts from afar. I got a couple keen, cherity logo shirts and a somewhat classier "Scotland" enbroidered one.
It seems today, however, I'm left without photos of our experiences (go figure, I must've been trying to enjoy my time with Toni rather than attempt to document the whole day) but will leave you with some choice shots of the kitties.
