A note I sent as a part of a petition to the US Forest Service:

Do not open up these forests for roads! Do you have any idea how few secluded and un-touched areas there are in this great land of ours? Unfortunately for most of us, we don't have a fenced-in ranch to call our own wide open space. Not only should we NOT plow roads through these lands you're proposing but they should be protected as state and national parks so we can focus our nation's energy on alternative sources of building materials rather than chopping down habitats and recreation areas.

I saw McCain and Bush four years ago and will take the same opportunity this year with any candidate willing to come to the Tacoma area. Whatever your political orientation, it's fascinating to see someone you've never seen but on television and in photos in 3-D.
