SETI@Home project detects strong candidate signal
In articles released yesterday a strong and consistent candidate signal for possible alien life has been detected. This will require much scrutiny and has yet to be undeniably confirmed but it appears to have shown up in multiple SETI@Home analysis. More »

What is a 'Bumbershoot'?
Sarah and I took the bus up to the Seattle Center today to enjoy the music and crowds of Bumbershoot. Sarah's idea to head up came from recommendations of co-workers and because a perrenial favorite of ours Seal was performing on this particular day on the main stage.

Possible first photo of extrasolar planet
A team of astronomers trolling for extrasolar planets around brown dwarf stars may have the first ever image of such a planet. Although a hubble image taken in 1998 was thought to show a planet it hasn't been confirmed and could just be a background star.
