Cinema in subterranean Paris
On the way to a training session for DMC student workers I heard the most fascinating report on NPR's Weekend Edition. It covered the story of a recent police find in the subterranean caverns below Paris: a rogue cinema complete with full-size screen, seats, and a bar. When it was found a camera triggered the sound of dogs barking and, upon returned to cut off the stolen power supply, everything was gone... Except for a single note that read "Do not try to find us." Awesome! Here are a couple links:

Thanks for all the links JD! I'll be sure to have a look at them all. This stuff is just so fascinating that it's hard to imagine so few people know about it. Although dangerous in most cases it really gets the imagination pumping to think of all the hidden treasures around and below us. I suppose it's like when we're children and we wonder whether or not our own house has a secret passage hidden in the walls somewhere...

So when are we booking tickets to Paris?

Probably plenty such opportunities around here... Maybe not hundreds of miles of caverns and catacombs but there's got to be some cool stuff between here and Seattle.
