Post-Xmas Xbox modding
Since buying Sarah and Xbox for Xmas she's been excited to purchase a chip that allows us to modify the system to do far more than just play Xbox titles. Today we woke up early to head over to Aaron and Robyn's place in Southeast Portland where Aaron would graciously help us install the mod chip to unlock the system's capabilities. The newest version of Xbox required some soldering in some very tight spaces and short wire lengths. We were utilizing Aaron's experience modding the Xbox but felt bad about all the precision soldering that went on that I could've easily taken care of without bothering him. Nevertheless, after the morning and a good chunk of the beginning of the afternoon the solders were done (with a couple re-done) and the system fired up without a hitch. Thanks be to Aaron and his handy electronic work! I'll be sure to snag our newly modded Xbox for some gaming at my upcoming bachelor party.
From there (and after many thanks to Aaron) Sarah and I gathered our things at my parents' place in La Center and drove back up to Tacoma. We came across a substantial backup between Lacey and Ft. Lewis but it cleared right after everyone was done gawking at a not-so-terrible accident well off to the side of the road -- again, I look forward to the day when cars can drive themselves and rubbernecking becomes a term of the past.
