Bachelor party sans strippers...

...but we did have Brooke! We also had a group of seven friends loaded with PCs and a couple Xboxen to wire up the nerdy bachelor party fun. Justin and Matt met at my place in North Tacoma this morning so we could consolidate vehicles and head south together. We met up with Gavin and his bro Tyson in Woodland where we enjoyed a quick cookie (thanks, Stephie!), beamed directions on our palm from one car to the other, then booked it rally-style down Hayes Road toward the infamous Lake Merwin Camper's Hideaway. Only a small layer of snow was around once we nearly reached the elevation of the hideaway but it didn't hamper our plans in the least. Well, the outdoor, snow-based game of capture-the-flag wasn't able to take place but we enjoyed gaming it all afternoon and night. Kudos go to the designers of Burnout 3 for keeping our attention well past the good intentions of those heading for bed around midnight.

Oh, don't forget Brooke! In the grand, LAN bachelor party tradition Mr. Turner supplied this party's ludicrous girl poster that, although scantily clad, was far less porn-like than that which I brought Gav for his party. Someone today suggested we all get together in like 10 years and bring all the various posters that pop up at these parties and cover the windows with them to protect our vulnerable eyes from gaming screen glare. I'm in!

Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I got home, a couple of web articles and a 700k file later, ut2004 was playing like a dream on my machine.

That's it... I'm getting a T1 installed at the hideaway for next time... ;)

I second that! Wonder if those hungry, hungry deer would chew through the fiber optic wires though...

And, hey, how 'bout those bongos!
