Star Wars: Episode 3 trailer

Last night at the tail end of The OC a world premiere trailer of Star Wars: Episode III was shown. I've been pretty disappointed by the quality of Episodes I and II but this one could be really worth it. I even hear it might be PG-13! At any rate, we got Wookies, treachery, light saber battles, more kick ass Yoda, space battles (always a personal favorite), and much, much more! Hopefully Mr. Lucas decided to truly push the limits of this series not just with special effects but with a rich plot that will leave us truly entertained. My guess is this will have to be, far and away, the best of the prequels mainly because of how well the Lord of the Rings franchise did. Story and details matter, folks and I only hope this Star Wars won't leave a similar Jar-Jar induced taste in my mouth as Episode I did.

For now, enjoy: View video (WMV, 6MB)

Um, yeah... I'm such a sucker for Star Wars... even though the last two (especially the second one) were pretty disappointing, I still have hope. Thanks for putting this kickass trailer up on your kickass site, Kevin.

Would you say you have a new hope? Ha, ha, ha. Sorry. Episode Tres is supposed to be pretty dark from what Mr. Lucas says and it may garner a PG-13 rating even. Should be cool nevertheless. Whether the Matrix, Star Wars or Back to the Future, it's hard not to take them all in and enjoy the good with the bad.

I just though, wouldn't it be interesting of instead of sitcoms we had no TV-based entertainment but went back to the days pre-TV where movies were serialized? It'd be especially cool if they had the big Hollywood production values of today, too. There could be smaller, cheaper theaters that play serials and charge half what a normal theater does. Or something like that. Don't know if Ben reads my site but I'll toss this idea out to him -- like he needs any more.

Wow, that was a tangent. Wee!

Awesome captures! If the movie lives up to the trailer, Episode III could top all other movies in the trilogy, even my favorite Empire Strikes Back. I hope everyone is ready for May 19th.

That trailer does look pretty impressive. I'm thinking Lucas felt some heat from the seamless success of Lord of the Rings and needs to step things up in this last one to redeem himself from Episode I and II.
