Side thought about God

I saw a lecture last night given as a part of a Theological Symposia at PLU given by Craig Nessan (view Lutecast video) I put online with co-worker Dave. Here's a side thought that came to mind I jotted down on my Palm when the speaker mentioned that God owns everything.

god is the owner of everything
we want to be like god
we want to own everything
lead by example

Just thought I would share.

I disagree with the speaker. God doesn't OWN anything. He may have created, but that doesn't constitute ownership. Maybe I missed a underlying message the speaker was trying to get across?

He was responding to some question from an audience member and was speaking off the cuff. I just thought, whether theologically sound or not, stating that God owned everything was a pretty loaded statement.

It was a pretty good talk otherwise and is certainly worth a watch. It's up online now.

Fits the current regime mindset doesn't it. We, as a nation have been accused of an Imperialistic agenda in the Middle East. Maybe, we should try a little harder not to be so Almighty.

In context, the "God owns everything" statement made a lot more sense. Granted I was playing spades on my palm, but I've sat through enough classes to properly multi-task.

G0d pwns?

That was all I though. And I thus amused myself rather a lot. (Ok, too much computerage for anna. But still.)

I agree with this statement! God is the owner of everything and he allows us to manage stuff, finances companies etc. we may have things for a season and then we are dead. I never seen a company stop functioning when the owner dies. It Just passes on to someone else and they become the stewards.
Some stewards are better than others
