Photos ~ Motocross in Rochester, WA

After an invite yesterday by Mandy and friends we couldn't pass up a chance to spend more time with them and for me to have a fun subject to photograph. Motocross! We hit the road to exit 88 to meet them at a track just off I-5. The admission was reasonable and the spectating was great! Although rally events I'd been to in the past were great fun they usually gobbled up an entire day at least if you wanted to see any amount of racing. This was some seriously easy spectating since racing was pretty contained and you could view from outside and even in an enclosed area surrounded by track you could reach by a large container doubling as a tunnel. The people were great and I had some real fun snapping photos. You can see them all and download full-res versions for print. Here's a few highlights!

Nice shooting Kevin! Picture #31 is my favorite, it's a classic motocross moment.

It proved a great subject for taking photos (and was a good time to boot!). If we ever have kids that want to do this we're totally in. What a great way for them to get to play with the toys normally the adults only get to have!

We are going to Motocross in April when it comes to Qwest Stadium and can hardly wait to see the pro's do this. Last year, the weekend before Motocross a bike shop in Renton called RMC had their own mini-motocross (they have thier own indoor track) and we got to see the little kids race. It is so much fun to watch them. We also found ourselves rooting for this little guy (no more than 4) who was somewhere near the back of the pack. You just have to root for the little guys!

Metal Mulisha FMX Challenge, Feb 10-11th, at the Deschutes Co. Fairgrounds in Redmond. This will involve lots of show on dirt bikes: much jumping and many tricks... Keep this in the back on your mind when you're thinking of the next trip to Bend/Redmond...

Let me know if you're interested. We always have room in our house for a couple of friends to sleep over...

Hey, this looks like a great place. Can someone let me know what the address is to this place so we can load up the bikes and head on out there?
