Fahrenheit 102.2
102.2 is not the frequency number of a local radio station but instead is the high temperature my body reached yesterday after I went home sick. I woke up yesterday morning with a lump in my throat but shrugged it off as irritation from dry air or something. As I got a few things done at work my head started swimming a bit and I quickly realized something wasn't right. I headed out before noon and decided not to join Sarah and Angela (of the Fergusons) for lunch for fear of getting Angela sick before her birthday and to avoid spreading whatever was creeping up on me to the entire office. Having 1/10 of your workforce out is bad enough without getting more people sick.
I ate some lunch then began getting chills. I soaked my bones in a bath but the water couldn't be warm enough. By the time Sarah came home I was in it pretty bad. My temperature had risen to 102.2 degrees and I was feeling miserable. She took great care of me buying me drugs and making sure I was fed and full of fluids. I took some nighttime flu medication that wore off after four hours which made for a painful and restless rest of the night. Today I stayed home and did as much sleeping as I could. I kept taking stuff to lower my symptoms and knock me out but nothing seemed to effect me much. I did get some good sleep in and managed to eat a solid teriyaki dinner tonight.
I think my fever has finally broke as I can sit and type this without drugs in my system and without the light from my monitor causing pain in my head. The throat is now pretty scratched up from some hard caughing but I'll certainly take it. I don't often get this sick nor have a fever but I know that headaches are one of my least favorite things in the world. If I were banished to hell today it would be never ending headache.
Cross your fingers for me that I'll wake up feeling spry and healthy tomorrow so I can meet a couple deadlines at work.

Oh Kevin, I'm so sorry you were feeling a bit under the weather... The strange thing is, after I stayed at your house on Sunday, I could tell I had caught something as well. (Was it in the Tacomian water?) When I woke up Monday at my house, I felt so horrible I wanted to die. My head, my throat, my eyes, my back, my legs, my entire body just ACHED. It was nasty. Do you suppose that someday, the people that pass nasty sick bugs around should be held accountable...

Yeah, that sounds like what I had/have. It knocked me out pretty fast on Tuesday and I slept nearly all of yesterday. I may have me an infection of some sort as is apparent by the green blobbies I was hacking up this morning. Yay for urgent care! Boo for missing more work!

Kevin,
As of this posting I have already spoke with you and know your getting better by the day, but I still feel bad for you. I hope you feel 100% soon.
Your Friend,
Steve
