Eating my likeness in a cupcake
There are good and there are bad ways to begin a Friday at work. Today started in a doubly good way with gifts of sweets. Ken brought in some deadly doughnuts from Krispy Kreme first and, although I didn't give in until later this morning, they were a welcome break during my break. When boss man Brian came in he had a cake container full of cupcakes. These weren't any ordinary cupcakes, mind you, considering the custom flare put on them by Brian's wife and helper Sarah (Andy's lady). Each was decorated in fine frosting with a likeness of each staff member. I was pretty partial to mine especially since they made sure to leave off a little frosting where the top of my character's head was. Andrew's was also pretty sweet since they switched to yellow for his blond hair and even got his goatee in there, too. I waited until I could show my Sarah my cupcake before eating it. They were moist and delicious and it was a pretty mixed snack emotionally since I swear I heard the little guy say in a tiny voice "don't eat me!"
I stayed a bit late with co-worker Andy while we moved a hefty chunk of a client's website up over the existing version they're currently using. We didn't hit any major snags and were able to get out of the office about 7:30pm. The nice part is that, with this accomplished, we're off the hook for having to come in and launch the site this weekend. Now I call that a success!
