Art on the Ave - 7/9

Yesterday I wrote about the blues fest happening this Saturday. Now, I'm reminded about Art on the Ave taking place this Sunday. I guess it's summer so I should expect more out of the weekends. Sixth Avenue (another bad site alert -- hello? hire SiteCrafting!) is home to some of the best places to eat, see and be seen in Tacoma. Sunday, however, pedestrians rule as they are treated to art of all kinds along a portion of this local street. There's art vendors, live music, plenty of food, and even a car show to enjoy -- all free of cost! My favs, by far, are the art cars. I hope that floppy disk car shows. It gets my nerly heritage right where it counts.

Everything's happening this Sunday from noon to 6pm on 6th Ave. between Cedar and Trafton.

Thanks for the reminder! We've always missed it or been unavailable in years past. We'll definitely be there this year. (BTW - all of the business districts websites look/operate alike)

Ahhhh...you mean the site they have set up specifically for this event, www.artontheave.org. Yeah, that does suck. But it's probably 'donated' by the only person the committee knows who knows anything about websites. Maybe you could offer some expertise as a community service?

Yeah, they're not as bad as the Art on the Ave site or the Old Town Blues Fest site I linked to yesterday. Of course, a site's only as good as its content and how often that content gets updated.

Thank you all for the comments on the ART ON THE AVE website. The site definitly could use a ton of help, and we would like to invite you to join our team of volunters for next year's event. Please let us know how to improve, give us fresh ideas or volunteer.

That might be very fun, Claudia. I'll send you an email so we can start chatting about the site. I'd love to volunteer my help in that arena!
