Confusion says...
Everybody loves a silly sign, right? Well, the best and worst can easily be found when you cross a local business with an adjustable sign of any kind. The other day my wife and I saw some text posted that did nothing but confuse rather than amuse us.
We pondered on it wondering what it at all had to do with Able Remodeling's main purpose of remodeling. We thought they'd dealt with clients of other remodeling companies that relied too heavily on technology and so was a super subtle ding against those companies. Or, somone has a little much time on their hands at the ol' office. Especially since the other side of the sign had this to say:
Which is slightly more random and slightly more to the point. I guess this sign isn't apparently destined to show their deal of the month or get across anything in particular they do. Which, in a free country like ours, is OK by me. I just wish they'd get better writers.
Do you know of any funny, weird, bad local signs? If so, email me a digital phone or camera pic or post the sign's text and location in the comments below.
PS - I know the difference between "Confusion" and "Confusious" -- I was just trying to be as amusing as some of these signs.

To start things off, the worst local sign I've ever seen appeared after 9/11 on the sign of a company just off Hwy 512 and Steele St. that read:
GO USA
MELT SAND
Way to go guys -- real tolerant. Kinda' made me a little sick inside.

The best sign is that Uncle Sam sign you see going south on I-5 somewhere in southern washington... i forget the exact location but it is a giant uncle sam sign right next to the road with crazy right-wing blatherings. Anyhow I love crazy sign people. It is actually refreshing amongst all the filtered-down marketing-team drivel you see everywhere. Pump up the volume!

A friend of mine said he saw a church bulletin that read "Children need more LSD."

Richard: Yeah, I was thinking of that sign when writing this. It's south of Chehalis at that McDonalds, truck stop, every school trip up or down I-5 stops there place.
Roxy: That's pretty funny! I wonder if that was a re-arranged sign a la Bart Simpson. Makes me think of Star Trek IV when Kirk tells someone on a bus Spock did too much LDS in the '60s. Hehe.

I think this is the one on S. 12th.
He actually has some good ones sometimes.

ooh, speaking of S 12th...
The mini-mart at S 12th and Pine, if I'm not mistaken is called the "EZ Foo Store" on one side and "EZ Food Sore" on the other...

I think they both make perfect sense. I've read the Hokey Pokey one before.

Erik: I'll have to keep my eyes out for anything new they post.
Jamie: That's pretty good stuff. Wouldn't want to get my food from a sore myself.
Momquote: Yeah, they make sense I just thought the computer one seemed a bit far off from their company's specialty to make sense. Though, random for random sake works too.

I remember seeing one around here that read:
"Give blood. 8 billion mosquitoes can't be wrong."

Just saw another one the other day that read "recycled toilet paper" for sale. I know what they were going for but it could have been worded a little different. LOL

Cassioposa: I love that one for so many reasons. And I'm sure the marketing person in you would love to unleash those kinds of slogans in your industry!
Steve: Thanks! That's too dang funny.

Anyone know if any of the signs they posted above are still around? If so, leave a comment or email me (freitaka@blarg.net) to let me know where so we can get some photo action going.
Feel free to email any pics you may have/acquire as well!

Ten or fifteen years ago there was a clothing store on West 25th Street, in Cleveland, Ohio, that read:"Lowest Price and Quality In Town."
And, of course, in Lakewood, Ohio, they used to have a sign in the park that read: "No batting balls or dogs in park."

it takes many nails to make a crib but only one screw to fill it.
