Downtown motel now King's Inn

You know that L-shaped motel that graces Pacific across from the Elephant Carwash? Yeah, not much to think about there but as of today it's known as The King's Inn. Don't find anything in the public records about this place between 25th and 25th on Pacific suggesting any tie to King Oscar himself but I can only hope the new owners/management will help bring a little much needed light to that corner. I have my doubts, however, since no other renovations are visible at least on the surface.

There are plenty of gaps in Tacoma's re-development/awakening/energizing/etc'ing and this spot is certainly one of them. Perhaps someday it'll be converted into a public park bearing a name we can all get behind. Oops -- I'm getting my topics crossed!

We are hoping that some of the re-vitalization energy will eventually spread down Pacific Avenie that far. One day. Maybe the area will see its day when the car museum goes in.

By the way, great satellite map you linked to. I scrolled over to where Pacific Plaza is now. The picture looks to be around 8 months old.

Tax records still show Linda Evans owns it. You think she would run a more classy place ;)

Oh and doesn't some Homeless Ministry run out of there? I think I have seen a sign on the building (near the Tire place)

There's one sign that reads "TURF Ministries" toward the end of the building right on Pacific. Dunno if that's still running or if The King ran them out.
