Tacoma restaurant scene is buzzin'

There are so many amazing places to eat in Tacoma that it makes my head (waistline and sometimes wallet) spin. I'm pretty sure our grocery shopping schedule has become irregular enough that it's in the minority when it comes to our sources of food. A couple recent pieces cover it all mighty nicely:

Eat your heart out, Tacoma - TNT
Ate days a week - Weekly Volcano Spew

They pretty much sum it up. I'd like to add that I'm pretty excited about that Stadium Bistro (see my chat with the head chef) and another restaurant next door to Doyle's both slated to open soon. I'd also like to second the Two Koi thing especially after being really impressed on their soft opening night! Can't wait to head back there for some more sushi.

So raise a glass and fork at your current favorites to clear the way for about a month of trying out the new places opening around town. Your wasteline won't thank me for it (but you will). Cheers!

Donor wall editorial and renderings

Plenty of stuff's still flying around about the wall the WSHS wants to erect to honor donors and continue to route pedestrians toward its front doors. There's an editorial today and some renderings of the wall.

City, History Museum share blame for wall - TNT

I really hope the city certainly can work with the WSHS to help complete this tribute to donors and also re-imagine how to do so to open up that potentially great passage in town.

Here's some renderings that were posted over at the Trib's Inside the editorial page blog. I still don't want a wall. To paraphrase Ronald Regan (don't do that very often): "Mr. Nicandri: Tear down this wall!"

Thanks Erik!
