A little help from my dad
Didn't waste much time getting up and around this morning since my dad was on the road and here first thing this morning. Sarah took off for a fund raising bizarre shortly after he arrived and we got right to it. First, we took a look at the roofs covering our little deck and the carport. The idea today was to patch any cracks or holes in the material. One spot over the deck has already leaked and we wanted to put a stop to that. We swept off and washed the deck roof then headed inside for a look at another home improvement task.
Soon after we moved in Sarah and I bought and installed a bunch of lighting. One buy was a great ceiling fan for our bedroom that I never got around to installing mostly due to my lack of confidence that I could mount the thing without it falling on our noggins while we slept. Boosted by a little more recent home improvement experience I was nearly able to tackle this on my own. I'm never, however, opposed to asking for help and together my dad and I were able to secure things in professional fashion.
Out we went to Home Depot to buy a tub of tar (ick!) with a side trip over to Dad's (how appropriate) for lunch. Once back at the ranch we made short work spackling the tar over any cracks and seams in both roofs. With the afternoon waning Sarah got back home and we both saw my dad off down the road back home. Thanks for all your help, dad! I'd like to think I'm a pretty good problem solver but darn if sometimes I'm just not sure how to get from point A to point B.

I can see on you trousers that your father helped you more than you could imagine. It’s so great to have good parents. I really don’t know how it is to have such parents. You are a lucky guy, believe me. My father doesn’t even remember my phone number, not to mention getting any help as yours provided. It is sad for me, very sad. Doesn’t your father need another child?
