Advice from a rainy people [update]
So I gave an account of Saturday's rain but there's obviously more falling. I'd like to hear from you about what's going on around the area. Anything rain-related happen to you? What did you see driving in to work? Any spots folks should steer clear of? Any advice to offer?
Whatever the case, take it easy out there and stay dry!

Update (2006-11-06 @ 10:12pm)
At lunch today a co-worker Dave and I headed out to see what we could of the urban flooding going on. We hopped in my car and found a good amount of standing water toward Dock Street and along Schuster Parkway. Thanks to Dave for taking most of the pics below while I navigated the temporary Tacoma canals.

Nalley Valley is nice and floody. I went in to work and the entire warehouse was full of puddles and dirt. Apparently the parking lot got a few feet of water, and it looked like our department got maybe 5 inches. It was starting to flood again so we left (some people were sandbagging).

The basement at my work has water seeping in one side. Nothing has happened yet, but there is water starting to soak our PBX, so if you know anyone in the Vancouver area who sells phone equipment, I might be interested in a VOIP setup in the near future. Keep that rain coming; I can practically smell the new switches with QOS and fiber modules. Drool.
