Former site of Mattson house update

After some recent comments on a post from last May, I decided to swing by the former Mattson house site for a look-see. There's a new place being built on the site and it's pretty far along. You remember the site is now owned by a Russell and was completely demo'd last may to make room for a new place. Looks like the bent L-shaped layout is meant to gobble up as much of the spectacular view as possible. The character of the home looks somewhat modern with possible stonework through out. The most curious feature, however, is a chapel-looking structure offset from the main building toward the southeast corner of the lot. I say "chapel" because of it's small size and bell-tower like steeple. It lacks windows though so maybe it's just a glorified storage shed/out building.

I wonder what the neighbors think? What do you think? Here's the pics:

The home seems to have a lower stance then the former home. So maybe a plus for the neighbors views?

Looks dull----too bad the R, didn't appreciate the historic character of the old home. Money does that to you.

Now THAT's a compound! Bell tower or guard look-out tower? You make the call.

I don't think the footprint of this house will (in terms of view) will be any worse for the neighbors than the one before. I'm more concerned about the signs that say they are getting ready to build 16 more house. I hope those houses don't block the view.
