"Eh"-mazing Race finale
The quote on the Amazing Race 11 homepage reads "Eric & Danielle Surprise Winners" which is probably what the producers weren't hoping for. Not that they're 100% bad they just didn't add to any excitement. I wanted the beauty queens to win not because of their looks but mainly because of their positive spirit throughout the race to each other and also mostly to other teams as well. You know, however, the shows producers weren't completely excited about the outcome or how teams got there mainly because they didn't devote the normal two hour slow for such a finale. No controversy, no big pitfalls, even the final challenge that easily fell into a Newly Wed Game-esque style was kinda' lame.
I'm a fan of the Amazing Race because mostly seemingly "real" folks are put to the challenge and it isn't all about looking good with your shirt off. There are some fun challenges and interesting places but, most of all, it fills a little time on Sunday night.

Vacant North End lot for sale
It's not often in an urban setting like Tacoma's North End that you come across a vacant lot for sale. Well, there's one at the corner of 45th and Orchard that might be to your liking. It's a rounded lot of just over 6,000 square feet. Both streets are semi-busy but at least have a 4-way stop to slow things down. Access from Pearl is pretty good as is to nearby Point Defiance as is the Jane Clark Playfield.
The City of Tacoma is giving up this lot from it's Public Works division and you can give a ring to 253-591-5535 for more info. Couldn't find an MLS number on this one (Anybody? Bueller?) that I could find but the lot is appraised at $120K.
