Photos ~ Beautiful day for Farmer's Market

Though we couldn't make last week's first Broadway Farmer's Market of the year, yesterday we certainly did. And it was a stunning day for it. You could tell most of Tacoma knew that, too, by the multitude passing through. Sarah and I arrived around 11:30am and by the time we were leaving the food court area and street became only passable through patience. We even had chance to meet a couple other PLU alums one of which goes by the online moniker tacomachickadee and runs a contributing blog over at FeedTacoma called Tickle Me, Tacoma. Great to meet you guys and three cheers for the Farmer's Market!

Out in old Japan Town with Tacoma Then & Now

I was finally able to hook up on a Tacoma Then & Now outing yesterday. With meticulously researched info handouts we headed out down Fawcett. The journey took us through some of Steve Cysewski's late 1970s photos of Tacoma and into a bit of its history. We endeavored to learn a little more about our town and match up some of the past through the Cysewski's photos.

Thanks to Gordon and his group for the fascinating shoots and for giving back by helping people learn about our heritage. Keep your eyes on the Tacoma Then & Now website and the FeedTacoma calendar for future outing info.

Here are some shots I matched up with Steve Cysewski's (in B&W) yesterday.
