Photos ~ Sunny day walk along Ruston waterfront
Things don't get much better around Tacoma than today: Sunny, 60-something degrees and a slight breeze. After doing chores and other odds 'n ends Sarah and I headed down the hill for a walk by the water. We started near Katie Downs and Dukes and strolled toward Point Defiance. Along the way we admired the crisp, clear visibility and bustling (but not too busy) sidewalk. People dined on restaurant decks and police kept a watchful eye out. We even ran into friends Cliff and Sommer from PLU and got to meet their unbelievably (especially since I'm so much more of a cat person) cute dogs.
Sarah and I shared a bench at the far end of Ruston Way for a spell. Once past the restaurants, scuba divers, and that cool dancing roller skate guy, the area quiets down quite a bit. We enjoyed just chatting and sitting until I feared for my neck with the Sun beating down on it and we headed back. A little sushi for dinner from nearby Flying Fish made for a great close to a relaxing and lengthy weekend.
Hope you all had a great one. And although not officially starting until June 21st, with a forecast calling for 80+ degree temperatures this week, I think I can safely say "Welcome to summer!"

After a day of chores in the house and garden, we too headed for Ruston! We, however, did it on the dirt bike. We headed down Proctor to wander the neighborhoods with a general path toward the waterfront then took a similar meandering ride up to Mom's house. Unfortunately no one was home. Then we stopped to buy cones for the ice cream we had at home. Turned out Steve forgot the money. But, with it being such a beautiful day we didn't let it ruin our mood and instead decided to swing by the house for some cash then over to Safeway for hot dogs, buns and some macaroni salad. It made a great "summer" day dinner and a great cap to a wonderful weekend.
Sorry! Didn't mean to write a novel!

No worries, Angela. Sounds like a great weekend to me! BBQs and waterfront walks will do it for me this summer.

Thanks for a picture for my background -- I needed something new and summery and cool. It is way too hot here.
