Happy Birthday, new Narrows bridge!
I'd consider any birthday party a success when 50,000+ people show up. Today was amazing. From dawn 'til dinner I was down at the opening festivities for the new Narrows bridge. I was there for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness the opening for an impressive structure and to be a cheerleader for the group trying to bring lights to our magnificent bridges. Sarah and I joined 10,000 people for the 5K walk first thing. Let's just say, by the time us walkers were getting started we cheered on the winning runners before we even got to the first tower -- and there was still a steady stream of people coming down from the top of the hill at War Memorial Park.
Along with everyone else we marveled at the day and enjoyed celebrating in awe with everyone else there. As for the NarrowsBridgeLights.org group, we had thousands of visitors to our booth that were all enthusiastic about lighting the bridges. So much so that nearly all of them filled out comment cards we had on hand and enjoyed taking a gander at the solar powered, LED light arrays we had there displaying every color of the rainbow.
Here's a few choice pics from the day and I'll post more tomorrow after I have a chance to rest and get some good sleep. Had fun partying with y'all and a very Happy Birthday to a stand-up feat of engineering and hard work!

I recommend everyone check out Kevin's entire set of photos. There's Kevin, Sarah, a bridge and some kissing. I won't give away the ending.

Very cool pictures, Kevin. I'm not sure, as usual, how to post my stuff here - other than by the seat of my pants - it's me Laura H. Anyway what a great event for you and Sarah to have participated in - thanks for sharing!
