Photos ~ Narrows Bridge opening day [update 1]

As I mentioned yesterday, I have a few more photos I'd like to post from opening day of the new Narrows Bridge. When you snap 700+ pics it's hard to choose which to share! Enjoy and, if you couldn't be there, hopefully this will give you some sense of how much pride in our city and region was present among all the beautiful people.

Update - Photos galore! (8:30am)
More photos over at Thrice All American as well as in the FeedTacoma photo stream and the News Tribune.

Photos ~ Newly remodeled Corina Bakery

Thanks goodness their phone message was right. Though it said they'd be opening again "Monday" I wasn't entirely sure which Monday they meant. Well, today is the day and you can now get your sweet tooth fix again at Corina Bakery near the corner of 6th and Tacoma. I had a brief chat with owner Walt Gaya who with wife Jessica run the bakery that bears their daughter's name. He said they first foolishly thought the remodel and expansion would take only a week. A month and a broken water pipe that caused minor issues for three floors of the building they're in later, they're relieved to be open. And they should be proud 'cause the space looks really great.

Take a look at the photos of their space below then look back at what it used to be. Seems like a good move to me. Sarah doesn't know this yet but she scored a slice of red velvet cake from my visit. Not to mention that the color on their walls kinda' makes me feel like I'm happily inside a piece myself. ;)
