Photos ~ Hotrod-a-rama
Last weekend's Hotrod-a-rama was really impressive. I haven't been to one until this year and was blown away by all the cars. I know nothing about vehicles like the roadsters, racers and dragsters they had on display but I sure try and appreciate them mostly for their beauty as art. It was, however, pretty fun to have my mouth and nose burn when they fired up a couple of those dragsters just to make some noise. I could see how that sound could get pretty addicting.

Girl Trouble "My Hometown" video
Just got an email with a link over to a Girl Trouble video. It's for a song called "My Hometown" and it's pretty solid. The group, which admittedly I'd never heard of, seems like a kind of raw, local blues rock sound. Seems there's a bit of 50s greaser in them all too. The video cracks me up with shots of an older guy spazzin' out a bit and some great shots of band members next to local landmarks. And, hey, you can't beat something that ends with the implosion of the old Asarco smokestack.
