Morbid ads make me sad while happily browsing events
While prepping a presentation for work I took a glance at the News Tribune's events calendar. Though a bit of a mess there's some good info on there. Unfortunately, the Google AdWords they have off to the side are a bit more, how should I say, macabre than they might desire.
Though who am I to judge whether or not someone wanting to learn what's going on around town wouldn't also want to be able to link over to buy a memorial lamp or bereavement meal. Either Google is trying to get more money out of the TNT to have better ads placed or there's a real institutional obsession at the paper with Halloween.
Though I have my favorite events calendar you can find tons of great Halloween related goings on that are fun for the whole family courtesy of TacomaMama.

Brave the storm for Art Walk
Despite a cancellation of today's Go Local wrap-up and final Broadway Farmers' Market of the season (babies) Art Walk is still on tonight. The winds are picking up out there but you don't really have to take the "walk" part literally if you don't want. Many of Tacoma's art venues have one thing or another going on. Here's a list of a bunch of them and don't forget the big 3 museums are open and free.
I wish I could partake however I'll be home prepping for a complete re-do of our front and back yard happening this weekend. Don't cry for me, however, and enjoy your evening -- come wind or rain or whatever!
Never ventured out for a Third Thursday Art Walk? Here are some related entries.
