Wright Park Fountain and Pond a Beautiful Sight
The public can't yet enjoy the full glory of the new pond and fountain at Wright Park but they've done a beautiful job thus far. Izenmania told me earlier today that the fountain was on so I decided to stop by. Winding paths surround the pond with numerous places to stop for a sit or picnic. The fountain is a simple circular fan that sprays a few feet above the surface. While I was there a lone duck had already discovered it and had the entire place to itself. While the grass grows in and the finishing touches are put on I'll look forward to the re-opening as I'm sure nearby neighbors will be.

Now we just need the Lady of the Lake (and her head) to return.

I can't wait to take the kids back out there and for them to see the work that's been done. Last time we were there it was merely a drained, fenced hole.

The Lady of the Lake (or Fisherman's Daughter as some call her) is back on her pedestal and looking as pretty as she did 117 years ago!
The celebration for all the improvements in Wright Park are just around the corner! Help spread the word that Metro Parks will host a community re-opening celebration on May 10 from 1-3pm. A short ceremony near the pond will take place at 1pm and there will be activities going on throughout the park until 3pm.
