Photos ~ Freedom Fair Airshow, People Watching, and Fireworks
I had a chance to enjoy some of the finest this year's Freedom Fair has to offer yesterday. The air show with my buddy Gav and his mom, some great people watching while I took a stroll along Ruston, then the fabulous fireworks display at night. This year was a special treat because, although I chose to watch at the lookout near the house, we could see the barge launching the pyrotechnics for the first time I can remember. Commencement Bay looked like a constellation of twinkling stars with the layer of boats spread about its surface. Impressive stuff!
Thanks to the organizers for putting on a great day!

Love number 87! Where do you go to take fireworks shots? I tried the viewing area at N. 39th and Stevens but it's too far away and there are lots of trees in the way.

Thanks Roxy. I have to say this is probably my favorite batch of fireworks pics to date. It was a total bonus to be able to see the barge from our vantage point off Stevens when in past years its been well behind the other edge of the nearby ravine. w00t!

Wow! Thanks for posting those! We went to a rooftop party downtown, but the view of the closest fireworks was blocked by the taller building beside us. It was fun, but it is great to see your shots.

Thanks for the great pictures, not sure I have ever seen better. I was lucky enough to view them from the Adverturess. What a great experience. I sat next to a couple from Spokane who were agog. Our fine city is putting on a great show. I'm beginning to worry that we should stop telling people what we have. I especially enjoy talking to people from that large metropolis north of us. They are so amazed to find out waht is going on here, but without any help from the Seattle centered media which seems to think all that goes on down here are shootings in the Hilltop.
