Congrats to the newly parents!
I just wanted to send out a hearty congratulations to our friends Andy and Sarah. Today they gave birth to an 8 lb, 22 inch baby girl. I haven't had a chance to speak with either of them just yet but hope they are enjoying the first few precious days of baby's new life. They thought they had a name all picked out but decided against it once they saw her and thought she looking nothing like it. I can't imagine what it will be like to have to pick out baby names someday since it's such an important decision. I work with databases all day long and set ID's for all sorts of things all the time. Despite that experience, giving a child their ID/name carries enough weight that I'd be intimidated by the whole process. I'm sure, however, my on-going baby name list I keep on my Palm will surely help. How does Humphrybostinky sound? Maybe I need more practice.
Update (2005-12-28 @ 1:21pm)
Baby now has a name! The choice is a beautiful one: Meleah. Exotic, feminine, and has great options for nicknames in "Mel" and "Leah".
