At home with friends

We all woke up slightly later than desired but soon prepared for Sarah's and my Sunday drive down to La Center, WA to stay with the folks and enjoy a bar-b-que with my sister, brother-in-law, and some family friends. But, Matt's car was broken into overnight which put a damper on the morning. The thiefs entered through his left-rear wing window, opened the door, and popped his stereo out. We attempted to comfort our friend but still felt terrible that it took place in front of our house. Sarah and I had to meet her best friend from southern Oregon in Woodland, WA so we attempted to comfort Matt one last time and gave him my house keys so he could stick around and make the phone calls that needed to be made.

BBQ outside in VancouverAlthough we were ticked about the morning's events Sarah and I proceeded as planned south to meet Mandy in Woodland. We met with no traffic and cruised past numerous holiday police speed traps and made it to Woodland in fine time. After a stop at a hotel to greet Mandy we drove down the windy old Pacific Hwy. and out to my parent's house. Introductions to Mandy were made and we all hung out for a while before Sarah and Mandy borrowed my dad's pickup and headed on a brief shopping trip in town. The rest of the afternoon was spent over at our family friends' house in town. We shot the breeze, enjoyed the mild weather, ate some fantastic BBQ, were entertained by one of the family member's young daughter, and played a hilarious game of Beyond Balderdash. Nothing much to say about it all except it was good, relaxing times.
