Avanti re-imagined as Biella
Avanti at the Marriot downtown has been made over. It's now Biella by Ruth Michelle and offers more than just the regular spa. Among the to-be-expected spa options there's stuff for individuals like the girl's night out or the men's executive escape. Couples can even do mud chamber thing or a 5 hour $500 "indulgent escape". There's still a salon and massage but now there's also espresso and a boutique with gifts like hand-crafted jewelery, unique books, handmade cards and candles, and clothing.
Sarah's enjoyed having her hair down there when it was Avanti but some of those other spa treatments are definitely something we could treat ourselves to sometime.

I read in the Biz Examiner that there was a lawsuit against the spa for using the name Avanti. That is probably why they changed the name. I had some friends who lived in the Avanti Apartments in Seattle years ago, I wonder if the complex owners are the ones who hold the rights to the name.

Could very well be especially considering that some company with the name "Firehouse" in Florida got our Firehouse Coffee to change to the crapily named Orgin 21 Degrees. Bleck.
